Last month, our Engagement Coaches began facilitating orientation sessions to prepare students, parents and learning coaches for the academic year. These sessions are offered weekly throughout the year. The one-hour orientations:
Provide training on how to use tools and resources
Help set expectations for the year
Present useful tips, hints and tricks
Six Orientation Sessions
An Introduction to Online Learning is designed to give parents, learning coaches and students in all grade levels the specifics of going to school in an online environment. We offer tips and tricks to get the school year started successfully.
Supervising Your Independent Learner takes the parents and learning coaches of students in grades 5 – 12 through detailed ways to supervise their students within the online environment. We provide several suggestions to help them support their student through the online learning experience.
OLS Navigation is designed to guide parents, learning coaches and students in grades K – 8 through our Online Learning System (OLS). We provide tips about how to successfully navigate the OLS.
eCollege Navigation takes parents, learning coaches and students in grades 9 – 12 on a tour through our eCollege platform, which students use to access their K¹² classes. We present tips to become successful eCollege students.
Blackboard Navigation guides parents, learning coaches and students in grades 6 – 12 through Blackboard, the platform students use to access their Aventa classes. This session helps prepare students to better understand and successfully complete Blackboard courses.
Middle School Transition is designed specifically for parents, learning coaches and students transitioning to middle school. We discuss specific elements dynamic to the grade 6 – 8 system to help better prepare learners for a successful first year of middle school.

1. When you open the schedule, identify the orientation, day and time that you would like to attend.
2. When that day and time arrive, click on the name of the orientation session in the schedule.
3. The orientation will launch.
